Reviving Margate truly meant giving life and movement back to the heart of the city. This project included the extension of the theatre itself and three city squares that led to it. The classical motifs within the theatre took form through an exploration of a built form suspended from the ceiling extension. The structure references heartbeat electrical waves that take form into ocean waves as reminder to the explores that the town has a sea front, which there is a lack of reference to while exploration. This structure is also used as a way finding method towards the theatre and is around a clear bike trail going around town. While this structure was considered in order to bring a sense of identity back to the environment, the theatres existing floors influenced the exposure of the circulation to reintroduce it back to the community with a rooftop bar proposed to add revenue to the theatre on days without events.
